Jim Bernheimer

Jim Bernheimer lives in Chesapeake, Virginia with his wife Kim, and daughters Laura and Marissa. Jim is the author of the Dead Eye series, including Pennies for the Ferryman and The Skinwalker Conspiracies. He is also the author of the Spirals of Destiny series, Confessions of a D-List Supervillain, and many short stories. Blessed (or cursed depending on your point of view) with an overactive imagination, Jim has long been a fan of Science Fiction and Fantasy.  Seeking to put that imagination to use, he has started to write his own orginal works in hopes of making his mark on the literary world. Jim's literary influences include well known writers such as Robert Heinlein, Edgar Allen Poe, J.R.R Tolkien, and the not so well-known C.T. Westcott.

Dead Eye- Pennies for the Ferryman

My name is Mike Ross. I'm a Ferryman. I help people with ghost problems, or ghosts with people problems. Funny thing, no one ever helps me with my problems. Civil War ghosts bent on killing me, Skinwalkers who just want my body, and a vindictive spirit linked both to my bloodline and my destiny... It turns out the dead still hold a good deal of influence over the world, and they don't want to give it up. I'm in way over my head. Fortunately, I'm too stubborn to quit.

"A devilishly rich world of ghost wars, evil hauntings, and one man's curse to save humanity from a nefarious spiritual takeover. I can't wait to read more by Bernheimer!" --Ryan C. Thomas, author of Ratings Game and The Summer I Died

Dead Eye- The Skinwalker Conspiracies

My name is Mike Ross and I’m a Ferryman – like in the Greek myth. I didn’t ask for, or really want, the job, but I’m trying to make the best of it. Most ghosts are okay and just need a little help to get where they need to go. Unfortunately, there are lots of exceptions, like power-mad psychopaths, spirits still trying to fight battles long since lost, and the worst of the lot – the Skinwalkers. They live vicariously by possessing people and controlling them like puppet masters. Then they toss them aside when they’ve outlived their usefulness. One of them stole my father fifteen years ago, and now I’m going to make that ghost pay.

Rider- Spirals of Destiny Book 1
Forget everything you thought you knew about unicorns and maidens... A unicorn is not supposed to survive the death of its rider, but Majherri did. Now he is a pariah, mistrusted by the Greater Herd. To reclaim his lost honor and status, he will entrust the remnants of his life to a new human female while unraveling the mystery of his continued existence. Kayleigh Reese is not Battle Maiden material. She's three years older than any other recruit and has enjoyed a peaceful, nomadic life working with her artist mother. The rigors of joining the High-King's elite unicorn cavalry are clearly not for her. Now, with a bond to Majherri, she must overcome her mother's disapproval, the ire of her commanding officer and fellow trainees, and, most importantly, the secrets of her unicorn's past if she is to become a legendary warrior. To prevail, they must quickly come together as a team and unlock the powerful and dangerous magic inside them.

I couldn't put this book down. The book pulled me in from page one and did not let go, even at the end which had me searching for the sequel. --Red Adept Reviews
